Data Deletion Request

Last updated: 9 June 2026

What this page is for

You have the right to ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. This page explains exactly what we hold, how to request deletion, and how long it takes. For the full picture of how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy.

What information we hold

We keep things deliberately minimal. The only personal information we store is your South African mobile number, together with the date and time you submitted it and which part of the site you used. We do not store your name, email address, or payment details, and we do not use cookies or trackers.

How to request deletion

You can ask us to delete your information in either of these ways:

  1. Email us at privacy@datagroup.co.za with the mobile number you would like removed, and the subject line “Data deletion request”.
  2. Reply on WhatsApp — send STOP followed by DELETE to any WhatsApp message from us, and we will remove your number.

So we can find the right record, please send the request from — or include — the same mobile number you originally gave us.

What happens next

  • We confirm we have received your request.
  • We delete your mobile number and its related records from our systems within 7 business days.
  • We confirm once the deletion is complete.

Once deleted, your information cannot be recovered. We may retain the minimum required to comply with a legal obligation (for example, to honour your opt-out so we do not contact you again), but never for marketing.

Third parties

To message you on WhatsApp we share your number with Meta Platforms, Inc. (the operator of WhatsApp). If you would like your data removed from WhatsApp itself, please also refer to Meta’s own privacy and data-deletion processes. Your number is otherwise stored in a Microsoft Azure database in the South Africa North region.
